The Arctic Institute of North America

History:  For over half a century the Arctic Institute of North America has reflected the best traditions of northern research, service, and publications, serving a membership comprised of Northerners, students, scientists, the general public and libraries.  We invite you to consider becoming a member, and to learn about our current programs and activities.  For more detailed information, go to AINA History.

Organization:  The institute is composed of two branches or corporations.  The Canadian Corporation, which is based at the University of Calgary, edits the journal Arctic, administers a Scholarship and Grants program, manages arctic research stations, etc.  The U.S. Corporation, which is based at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, administers a Grant-in-Aid program for undergraduates.
