Organizers announce a workshop on Sea Ice Modeling and Data Assimilation. The workshop will be held 15-16 September 2014 in Toulouse, France.
This workshop is organized by the International Ice Charting Working Group Data Assimilation Working Group (IICWG) together with the European Union's 7th Framework Programme Climate, Economics - Arctic Research on Change (EU FP7 ICE-ARC) project and is a continuation of a series of events from 2007 through 2013.
The focus of the workshop is on research and development related to numerical sea ice analysis and prediction. General topics for the workshop include:
- Sea ice observations and uncertainties;
- Sea ice data assimilation (methods and results);
- Sea ice model parameterizations and coupling to ocean and atmosphere models; and
- Verification approaches for se-ice analyses and forecasts.
It is expected that most workshop attendees will give presentations, each of which will be allowed 30 minutes. Participants should provide a short abstract in the registration form. The workshop is limited to 40 participants.
Registration deadline: Sunday, 15 June 2014.
