We are currently gathering information for ASSW Member Meetings as well as other groups who would like to propose a workshop. Individual registration will begin in 2015.

ASSW 2016 will be held in conjunction with the Arctic Council and Arctic Observing Summit. Dates are to be determined, but will be in the March 12-20, 2016 timeframe.

Arctic Biodiversity Congress, Trondheim, Norway

The Arctic Biodiversity Congress will be held in Trondheim Norwary Deceberm 2-4, 2014.

Purpose

To promote the conservation and sustainable use of Arctic biodiversity through dialogue among scientists, policy-makers, government officials, industry, civil society and indigenous peoples.

Goals

To present and discuss the main scientific findings in the Arctic Biodiversity Assessment (ABA);

9th Arctic Frontiers Conference: Climate and Energy, Tromsø, Norway

The earth is in the midst of major climate changes. The Arctic is experiencing the impact of these changes more and faster than other parts of the globe. Processes starting in the Arctic may have deep and profound impacts on other parts of the globe. At the same time the Earth's population is rising and with it the global energy demand. New and greener energy sources are gaining market shares, but still the energy mix of the foreseeable future will have a substantial fossil component.

ITA YATI: A SYMPOSIUM ON TRADITIONAL KNOWLEDGE

The Tłı̨chǫ Government, the Government of the Northwest Territories and Canadian Polar Commission are co-hosting a multi-event symposium to advance the use of Traditional Knowledge. 

Overview

The symposium will comprise four companion events Friday though Sunday:

The Fall AGU Meeting provides an opportunity for researchers, teachers, students, and consultants to present and review the latest issues affecting the Earth, the planets, and their environments in space. This meeting will cover topics in all areas of Earth and space sciences.

7th International Conference on Arctic Margins, St. Petersburg, Russia

Conference organizers announce that the 7th International Conference on Arctic Margins (ICAM VII) will be held 2-5 June 2015. The venue for this meeting will be the A.P. Karpinsky All-Russian Geological Research Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia. 

The preliminary outline of the scientific themes for ICAM VII is as follows:

- New data on seafloor geology and deep structure of the Arctic basin and their implementation in international projects (with sub-session on planned field activities)

Fourth International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-4) & ICARP III Symposium

The combined four-day ISAR-4 and ICARP III Symposium will be composed of plenary presentations, panel discussions, and parallel sessions addressing both the ISAR-4 theme, "Rapid Change of the Arctic Climate System and its Global Influence," and the ICARP III theme, "Integrating Arctic Research: A Roadmap for the Future." It will also present an opportunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of teh international Arctic Sicience Committee (IASC) and to recognize those who have been instrumental in its founding, development and growth.
